Part of the groundbreaking $1 million Triple Crown of Rodeo series, Rodeo Carolina, Oct. 6-8, caps the 2023 trilogy of events when dozens of accomplished Western sports athletes will compete for their share of the $400,000 purse and shot at the life-changing $1 million bonus.

Genevieve "Gigi" Long, of Greenville, SC, is qualified for USEF Pony Finals and will compete with Home Run Bound at the prestigious event in August. This will be Gigi’s first trip to Pony Finals, and is under the guidance of Gisele Beardsley O'Grady at Clearview Farm in Landrum, SC.

Team Tryon member from the venue’s earliest days, and beloved horse show secretary Sally R. Dunn, age 73, of Mill Spring, NC, formerly of Wellington, FL, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills. Horse shows and the equestrian community were the center of her life, and Sally was a critical part of Tryon International’s success.

Luiz Francisco de Azevedo (BRA) and Nashville closed out their Tryon Spring Series by winning Saturday’s $146,000 Main Street Insurance Group Grand Prix CSI 3*. Gigi Phillips (USA) and Thunderbird were victorious under the lights in Tryon Stadium to win the $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby presented by The Farm House, taking her second consecutive derby win of the day at Tryon International Equestrian Center & Resort (Tryon International)

At Tryon International Equestrian Center & Resort (Tryon International), Samuel Parot (CHI) and Chrystal Blue were the best of the best in the $146,000 Bobcat Grand Prix CSI 3* at Saturday Night Lights presented by Tryon Horse & Home. Parot and his own 2011 Oldenburg gelding (Chacco Blue x Calvaro F.C.) cleared the jump off course in 44.63 seconds to secure the win.

The $78,000 PBR Ironpeddlers Chute Out Grand Prix CSI 2* was rescheduled to 9am Saturday morning with the cancellation of Saturday Night Lights presented by Tryon Horse & Home due to weather conditions, with 53 entries presenting for the Anthony D’Ambrosio (USA) course design. Kristen Vanderveen (USA) and Bull Run's Faustino de Tili, one of 10 clear rounds presented by Stuller Power Solutions, flew through the short course in a time of 34.24 seconds to take the win.

Luiz Francisco de Azevedo (BRA) and Nashville were the fastest of the day to take top honors in the $39,000 ProElite Welcome Stake CSI 2*, the first international Welcome Stake of the 2023 season as part of Tryon Spring 4 competition. Saturday Night Lights is CANCELED for May 27th.

Saturday Night Lights presented by Tryon Horse & Home welcomed the $35,000 Cooper Motor Company Grand Prix to Tryon Stadium as the feature class for Tryon Spring 3 competition.

Tryon Spring 2, one of six weeks of Hunter, Jumper and Equitation competition in the Tryon Spring Series presented by Main Street Insurance, hailed the start of Saturday Night Lights presented by Tryon Horse & Home, the fan-favorite event series featuring free entertainment, live music and a carnival atmosphere alongside premier jumping competition in Tryon Stadium.

Alicia Wilkinson (Waxhaw, NC) and Salut Ca-Va claimed the $20,000 Sunday Grand Prix to close out the Tryon Welcome Series presented by Horse Illustrated, stopping the jump off timers in 39.989 seconds to clinch the victory.
