Samuel Parot enthusiastically described winning mount Chrystal Blue as “my best horse. He had colic surgery last year, and has been coming back better and better.”

The Chilean rider described the distinct differences of walking the Ken Krome (USA)-designed track versus riding it. “It really was not easy,” Parot admitted. “When you walked the course, it looked normal, but there were a lot of horses who had faults. With the jump off, it was the same thing. But it was my day, and it’s been a super summer!”

In keeping his equine athletes in top form, Parot credited the hard work of his grooms. “I have a very good team. I have two super grooms – Rodolfo Medina is the best! He knows the horses, he knows everything, and that is really important for me. The grooms are an important partner for the riders.”

With the conclusion of the Tryon Summer Series presented by The Farm House, Parot and his team plan to travel back to their base in Wellington, FL, for some deserved time off. “We will have one month off for the horses, because they jumped a lot here – and then vacation for me!” Parot shared. His team will return to the Blue Ridge Foothills for the Tryon Fall Series.

Rodolfo Medina was awarded the Groom’s Award presented by Veredus for his care and dedication to Chrystal Blue, alongside Tryon International’s Drew Page.
