The PBR Challenger Series will hold more than 60 events from May-October, culminating with its Championship on October 19 in Las Vegas. The PBR Challenger Series provides additional competitive opportunities for bull riders who are both affiliated and unaffiliated with a PBR Team Series team.
The PBR debuted at Tryon International in 2021, bringing the Velocity Tour to the Tar Heel State as 2018 Rookie of the Year Keyshawn Whitehorse (McCracken Springs, Utah) and Ezekiel Mitchell (Rockdale, Texas) both put together 2-for-3 performances to tie for the event win.
In June 2022, the “Original Extreme Sport” returned to Tryon International Stadium for the final preseason event for the newly launched PBR Team Series, a groundbreaking league which transformed bull riding from an individual to team sport.
Rebounding from a 0-2 showing at the first preseason event in Bismarck, North Dakota, the Ridge Riders were a picture of perfection in Tryon, winning both of their games and posting the lone qualified ride of the Bonus Round.
The bull riding action for the 2023 PBR Ironpeddlers Chute Out at Tryon International begins at 8:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, June 23, and 7:00 p.m. EDT on Saturday, June 24.
All 35 competing bull riders will get on one bull each in Round 1 on Friday night and Round 2 on Saturday evening. The riders’ individual two-round scores will be totaled with the Top 10 advancing to the championship round for one more out and a chance at the event title.
